Questions.

LIMS questions, answered.

What is a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)?+

A LIMS is the system of record a testing laboratory runs on. It tracks every sample from intake through testing, review and reporting, stores results against methods and specifications, enforces quality controls, and produces the final report. LabValence is a modern, ISO/IEC 17025-aligned LIMS that also covers quotations, invoicing and procurement, so the whole lab runs on one platform.

Is LabValence ISO/IEC 17025 compliant?+

LabValence is built around the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements — enforced four-eyes review, controlled documents and methods, traceable results, NCR/CAPA, audits, competency and management review all map to the standard's clauses. It is also engineered to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 standards (certification in progress). Accreditation is awarded to your laboratory, not the software; most labs reach accreditation-readiness in around 90 days on LabValence.

What does LabValence cover — from sample to invoice?+

Everything on one spine: sample reception and chain-of-custody, the test catalog and worksheets, results entry and review, signed PDF reports, then quotations, invoicing, payments and procurement. Because every step shares the same data and audit trail, there is no re-keying and no exports between systems.

Can LabValence run on-premise or air-gapped?+

Yes. LabValence runs in our cloud, in your private VPC, or fully air-gapped on your own infrastructure with local or Google Drive storage — suited to sovereign, defence and regulated environments. Air-gapped and on-premise deployment is available on the Enterprise plan.

How secure is LabValence?+

Security is built in, not bolted on: centralized fail-closed authorization, role-based access with custom roles, encryption at rest, and an append-only, hash-chained audit trail that records the actor, IP and before/after of every security- and finance-relevant action. Reports carry a tamper-evident SHA-256 signature (21 CFR Part 11-style). LabValence is engineered to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 standards (certification in progress).

Which laboratories is LabValence built for?+

Accredited and accreditation-seeking testing laboratories of every size — environmental, water and wastewater, food and agriculture, petrochemical, materials and construction, and microbiology labs — from a single site to multi-branch groups across Oman, the GCC and the wider Middle East.
